Therapy is often a place of vulnerability. Being vulnerable can be hard, but it oftentimes is the first step toward healing. One of my top priorities as a therapist is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you can be yourself so that being vulnerable doesn’t feel intimidating. I am committed to offering my unconditional support and professional guidance to my clients as they embark on journeys of healing, which may look like processing trauma, learning to cope with anxiety or depression, identifying and adjusting negative interpersonal patterns, and more. I have worked with a wide range of issues and am flexible and open to a variety of symptoms and presenting problems.
I have received my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I prioritize the use of culturally attuned and holistic approaches to mental health. My goal is to empower my clients through unconditional positive regard, a therapeutic alliance, mutually decided therapy goals, and the creation of a safe, supporting environment where clients have the space they need to heal. I view each of my clients as unique individuals and I want to tailor my therapeutic approach to suit their specific needs. Though I intend to bring my own therapeutic expertise to each session, I also bring adaptability and respect for each client as the expert of their own story.
My favorite part of what I do as a therapist is watching my clients learn to integrate skills and strategies discovered in therapy into their own personal lives, and then enjoy the progress that often comes as a result.
Outside of being a therapist, I love creative pursuits such as painting, drawing, reading, listening to music, playing video games, and writing creatively. You can typically find me enjoying a nature walk or hanging out with my pet cat, Edison.
