Choosing to see a therapist can be unnerving, exciting, intimidating, hopeful… It can take some time for us to make the decision to reach out. My approach to therapy is about building a connection in a non-judgemental environment using curiosity and empathy. I believe the relationship between client and therapist is a key part of the counseling experience and the healing process. I want my clients to feel at ease and part of a partnership, working toward their ultimate goal(s). I work with couples and individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues and marital dissatisfaction.
I have a relational/attachment focus by reflecting on experiences and relationships that have shaped your life, and identifying the vicious cycles that can keep you stuck from being who/where you want to be. I also value looking at things holistically and take into considering the mind + body connection in a client’s overall health. I also believe humor and laughter can be invaluable in healing and it is often heard coming from my office.
In our sessions you will experience a compassionate space in which we work together to find deeper understanding of patterns in your life, embrace your whole self, and strengthen relationships.
