Clinical Therapist
Melinda holds a Master’s degree in Expressive Therapies with an emphasis in mental health counseling and dance/movement therapy from Lesley University. Melinda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana as well as a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist with the American Dance Therapy Association. Much of her clinical work has focused on adolescents with mental health symptoms and youth with emotional and behavioral challenges including youth with neurocognitive diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder. Melinda utilizes a multi-modal approach when working with youth engaging clients in talk, play, art, movement, music and writing as appropriate to the client’s age, needs and abilities. Melinda believes integration of family/caregivers in the therapy process is essential to a youth’s ongoing growth and success in treatment. In addition to her clinical work, Melinda works as an adaptive dance instruction providing high-quality dance education to youth with Down’s Syndrome.
