Marriage and Family Therapy Intern
I am presently enrolled at Indiana Wesleyan University in the graduate program for Marriage and Family Therapy. During my practicum, I have worked with individuals, couples, children, and families. I am especially interested in combat and trauma-based PTSD, narcissism abuse, and child therapies. Prior to attending Wesleyan, for 18 years I worked as an elementary school teacher in Indianapolis public schools.
Education: I earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at IU and am currently completing my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Family/Hobbies: My husband and I share our house with my daughter, one dog, and four cats. My son just began his freshman year at Purdue. I enjoy walking, music, nights around the firepit, journaling, volleyball, free-lance writing, and binge watching This is Us.
I have volunteered at Peyton Manning Children’s hospital and worked in a church nursery for 4 years.
My interests lie in supporting families. I realize that what goes on with one family member affects the entire family. I am also interested in helping couples strengthen emotional connections, parenting issues, and infidelity
Working with children comes natural to me from my experience as a teacher and a mother. I have worked with children of many cultures with behavioral, emotional and academic challenges and consider it the most sacred of work.
