Resident Counselor
In 2022 I received my master’s degree in mental health counseling. I have a specialty concentration in working with children and adolescents but also have worked with young adults and the elderly population.
I have always been interested in whole body wellness and holistic approaches to mental health healing. The mind/body/soul connection has always been so interesting to me. This sparked when I took a positive psychology course in college. Positive psychology is something I implement into my practice today and believe it is a tool that everyone should have in their toolbox.
I want to empower clients by offering a safe and comfortable space for them to blossom into the best version of themselves. I recognize that everyone is unique, so treatment plans will be customized to you. By using holistic approaches, together we can examine and figure out the core, root causes of discomfort and try to get on a path of healing. I recognize that when our minds feel unpleasant, so do our bodies and vice versa.
Growing up with my Korean grandma, I have learned so much about alternative medicines. I recognize that sometimes medication is necessary, but I will do everything I can so that medication will be the last resort. When we are given the right tools and support, the mind and body can heal.
We can work together to really tackle and get to the root of the issues while learning about different tools and coping skills to continually grow. I also really love the idea of getting creative with therapy, whether that be through art, music, or walk and talk. I also have a therapy dog, Mr. Boa, a 10-year-old Pomeranian, who I will bring and utilize as a tool based upon my clients’ wishes.
Some facts about me: I am half Korean and am very close to my grandma who immigrated to the States from South Korea in the 90s. She has been an inspiration and a motivating factor to me my whole life. She has gone through so many hardships in her life just to make my life more comfortable. Everything I do is to make her proud. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my dogs, in nature, camping, trying new restaurants, going to concerts, and traveling.
