Marriage and Family Therapy Intern
I am an Intern in my final year of MFT (Marriage and Family Therapy) training at Indiana Wesleyan University. I was always the person that people would confide in anyway, so I thought I’d get some professional training in the field. I tend not to ‘beat around the bush’, but I have been told my delivery is kind and not judgmental.
I have a real passion for couples who are at a bump in the road and want to get back on track. I also very much enjoy working with premarital couples. With 22 years of marriage under my belt, I like to work with couples who are just beginning. There are so many things to know about each other before saying, “I Do”. I have finished Level I Gottman Couples Therapy training and look forward to many more opportunities to learn methods and theories that will benefit my clients. As well, I look forward to working with families who want to rebuild or tighten their connections with one another.
Lastly, having lost a sister 15 years ago, I have a special place in my heart for grieving people in all situations, especially those who have lost siblings as they are often forgotten in the shuffle of grief.
Personally, I live in Lawrence with my husband and our youngest child. Our other two children are away at college. We have two dogs and are just getting a taste of the empty nest phenomenon. So far, we like it.
